Welcome

This is my personal website, it's not much at the moment but I'm planning to add some more blog posts soon. In the past I have done a lot of work with Zend Framework so I'm sure I'll mention that once or twice. However, more recently I have been using Spring Framework to build web apps in Java for work so I would also like to write a couple of articles comparing Spring to other tools that I've used.

I have also been keeping up with developments in Google's new programming language Google Go. I think the concept of a compiled language that supports many of the features that users of dynamic languages take for granted is brilliant. I am very excited about the up coming 1.0 release which promises to bring stability to the language. I'd like start using Golang to do some application development and write about how that goes.

Finally I'd like to explorer HTML5 as the new ubiquitous platform for developing applications. Since I've been creating AJAX powered web apps for the last four years I should have something interesting to say on the subject.

About Me

I am a 26 year old Dutch programmer living in London. I work for a foreign exchange company, creating web apps in various languages for manage foreign exchange transactions.

I love programming and have been doing nothing else since graduating from Oxford four years ago. I started out coding simple websites in PHP but have since moved on, now I build enterprise applications in Java.

In my spare time I play around with Python and Google Go and I have created a novel just-in-time build system for web apps made in Go called Rebuilder (GitHub).
